My husband and I have to leave the house we are renting in search of something cheaper. Which means we will be moving into a space about half the size of the place we have now. Which means we will have to figure out a way to cram 2 adults, 2 cats, 10 fish, and a newborn baby into a space meant for 1 normal person.
Ugh. So far the search has not been going too well. Is it too much to ask for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment/house that is quiet, clean, and comfortable? Not to mention, in our price range. That is the major issue, we don’t have alot to work with. So far we have seen a few places and this is how they rate:
First Apartment: 2 bedroom apartment, seemed nice enough, except for the large dogs barking loudly and consistently in apartment 1, 2, and 4, adjacent to the one they were showing us.
Second Try: Nice, open floor plan, large spacious rooms, lots of closet space…..smells like wet dog throughout entire home. Again with the dogs…
Third: Cute home, nice-looking kitchen with lots of counterspace. Bedrooms about the size of tiny closets. No go.
Fourth: Perfect. 2 bedroom, backyard, parking in driveway, storage shed, central air, hardwood floors. Problem: No cats allowed. Upper floor landlord allergic to cats. Great.
So after these four tries, we are still where we started. We have to be out of ours by the end of September. Moving seems like an impossibly overwhelming task in my seventh month of pregnancy. Feeling the “woe-is-me” blues…
